The Mission and Vision
Chris Kartschoke is running for the Minnesota House to offer District 54B something that has become too rare in politics: common-sense leadership grounded in integrity, fairness, and real-world experience. His mission is to represent the true majority of neighbors in Prior Lake, Shakopee, Jordan, and the surrounding townships—hard-working, moderate, family-oriented people who want safe communities, good jobs, strong schools, and a government that respects both their freedoms and their tax dollars.
Serving people, not parties.
For Chris, being a representative is not about climbing a political ladder or carrying out a party playbook; it is about listening carefully, weighing facts, and making decisions that are practical, fair, and consistent with the values of the district. He wants to ensure that every person in 54B—parents, students, small business owners, farmers, seniors, veterans, and new Minnesotans—can see themselves in their state government and know that their concerns are taken seriously.
A premier place to live and work
Chris’s vision is for District 54B to be, if not the leading community in Minnesota, then one of the very best places in the state to live, work, raise a family, and retire. That means a district where strong local businesses provide good jobs, schools equip students for college and careers, seniors can afford to stay in the area they love, and families feel safe both in their neighborhoods and when visiting nearby cities.
He believes that can be achieved by making 54B a magnet for responsible business investment, supporting farmers and small business owners, and building a workforce that is well educated and adaptable through robust K–12, technical, and higher education. It also means addressing the high cost of living, especially housing, healthcare, and childcare, so residents do not feel they have to leave the community to make ends meet.
Guiding priorities
Fairness and equality for all. Chris envisions a Minnesota where everyone is treated equally under the law, with the same rights, opportunities, and responsibilities, and where no group is singled out for special treatment or punished for their beliefs. He wants policy debates to be grounded in the golden rule and in a respect for personal freedoms—not in divisive culture wars.
Thriving businesses and good jobs. Chris sees business as the economic engine of the district and the state and wants government to be a partner rather than an obstacle. His vision includes a regulatory framework that holds bad actors to account while giving small and mid-sized businesses the flexibility they need to grow, hire, and compete, especially in sectors that are central to 54B’s economy.
Excellent education and lifelong learning. Chris wants Minnesota to remain a leader in education by fully funding schools and supporting teachers, support staff, and school leaders. He champions early childhood programs, special education, and career and technical education, and he wants students to understand that both four-year college and skilled trades can be paths to a successful, fulfilling life.
Safe, healthy, connected communities. Chris’s vision includes safe neighborhoods, strong partnerships with law enforcement and first responders, and accountability mechanisms that protect both the public and officers. It also includes clean air and water, well-maintained roads and bridges, thoughtful land use that respects farmland and open space, and expanded access to mental and physical healthcare that people can actually afford.
